- Grizzlies Game
If you’re a Grizzlies fan, this option is perfect for you! The Grizzlies will take on the Atlantic Aces on New Year’s Eve at 9:15 pm at the Energy Solutions Arena in downtown Salt Lake City!
- Big Easy Entertainment’s New Years Eve Masquerade Ball
Do you enjoy mystery, dancing, and a party? This event includes all three! The masquerade ball will take place at the Red Lion Hotel in downtown Salt Lake, in the Grand Ballroom. The ball includes a dinner buffet, live music by “The Changing Lanes R&B & Varity Top 40 Band” as well as a showcase of Big Easy Entertainment’s “Decade Divas” and a comedy show.
- The Hogle Zoo
Do you have young children and a desire to do something fun? The Hogle Zoo will be open for an early New Year’s Eve countdown to 9pm!
- Park City Canyons Resort
Park City is always beautiful, especially covered in snow. Visit the Canyons Resort to enjoy an afternoon filled with free concerts at the Ski Beach, and enjoy a fireworks show at 7:30pm.
Salt Lake City is ranked on Travelocity as one of the top ten places to be for New Years because of this spectacular event. It spans over three days, starting on December 29th, and takes place in a variety of locations in downtown Salt Lake. Utah is packed with local musical talent, and with music venues spreading across
Utah you can be sure to have a great night. Venues such as Urban
Lounge, the State Room, the Complex, and the Depot all have shows

- Body Worlds & The Cycle of Life
Body Worlds & The Cycle of Life is reaching its 20th anniversary this year and it’s
back at The Leonardo in Salt Lake City. This exhibit walks you through the stages of life and shows the difference between healthy and unhealthy lifestyles. This exhibit is great for the whole family and is a perfect activity for New Year’s Eve. The Leonardo is located at 209 East 500 South in Salt Lake City and is open from 10:00am-10:00pm.
- Catch a Movie
With great releases such as, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Into the Woods, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay–Part 1, and more, going to see a movie is a perfect way to spend New Year’s Eve. Get your loved ones together, grab some popcorn, and ring in the New Year with a great flick.
- Temple Square Christmas Lights and Concert Series
Each year, Temple Square puts up exquisite lights. These can be seen
from the streets, but the real beauty is most evident when walking through Temple Square. All Temple Square activities and concerts are free and all ages are welcome. Fireworks can be seen on West Temple at midnight on December 31. This is the perfect event for the whole family to ring in the New Year!
- Wiseguys Live Comedy
Everybody loves a good laugh, that’s why Wiseguys Live Comedy is a perfect way to end the year. Downtown’s Wiseguys is proud to announce that comedian Chris Franjola will be performing December 30 and 31 at 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Franjola lives and works in Los Angeles and has been a regular performer on the late-night hit show Chelsea Lately. There is no age limit at Wiseguys Live Comedy, but the content may vary for each show.
