We’re at it again – this time, in the developing department. Meet Shawn, our newest Fluidite! No one could be happier than our head developer Zach to have him join our team, but the rest of us still wanted to get to know him. So we asked him some questions that he happily answered.
What is your experience in developing before Fluid?
I was fully introduced to web development in August 2017 when I started as a guppy at DevMountain. There, I learned to code and became a ping-pong champion. Less than a week after graduation, I landed a job with a tiny startup called MediCCM, where I spent the past year working with a dev team of two people (including myself). I learned a ton from my coworker and made huge improvements to my coding skills and knowledge.
What are you most excited to bring to the Fluid team?
Clean code, help for Zack and a new ping-pong champion.
When you’re not at Fluid, what do you like to do for fun?
When I’m not at Fluid, you can most likely find me lounging around with my wife and baby daughter. If I’m not lounging, then I’m probably working on freelance projects, reading comics, playing video games, playing basketball, watching basketball or eating some sort of delicious food. You may even find me eating delicious food while doing one of the other activities.
What else should we know about you?
- I graduated from Utah State University in 2013 with a BFA in Photography and Printmaking.
- I spent three and a half years doing graphic design for a brand management company.
- I am 100% Japanese but speak 0% Japanese.
- I have a two-month old daughter named Charlotte and she is the best.
We’ll just have to see if his ping-pong skills are what he says they are during our annual championship… Welcome to Fluid, Shawn!
