July 24: Pioneer Day (in Utah), Karl Malone’s Birthday, and . . . oh yeah, YouTube’s LIFE IN A DAY!

Talk about a big day!

Life in a Day is a cinematic experiment that aims to document one day in your life. On July 24, you have 24 hours to capture a snapshot of your life on a camera for others to see.

Kevin MacDonald, the Oscar-winning film director, will choose and edit the most compelling footage into a feature documentary film. It will be executive produced by famous director Ridley Scott.

Kevin gives some thoughts below on how to make a successful video.

The film will premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and if your footage makes it into the final cut, you’ll be credited as a co-director and may be one of 20 contributors selected to attend the premiere.

On July 24, capture your day on camera and then upload your footage to the “Life in a Day” channel before July 31 and you might just see yourself at Sundance!
