Gratitude–the missing link in social networking?

5 Jul, 2010 McKell Naegle

Saying “thanks.”

A very simple step that most people don’t do often or well.

You should show appreciation when someone does something online that is nice for you.

It could be responding to questions, retweeting a link to a blog post, or connecting you with one of their friends.

Not only is it appropriate to express gratitude, it may be necessary to see your online influence continue to expand.

Always look for ways to give back. Your online network will most definitely become an offline network if you do.

In the end, it is your character and reputation at stake.

Say “thanks,” and you will be noticed.
