8 Foods that Shouldn’t Make it onto the Thanksgiving Table

Be Considerate of Those You are Feeding

For some, Thanksgiving marks the time of year when it becomes appropriate or maybe more socially acceptable to decorate for the Christmas season. Sure, maybe some of you have had your tree up for a month already, and we’re not judging. But it’s also a time to get together with friends and family, be thankful and, of course, feast.

Whether it’s your first Thanksgiving as the cook or you’re a turkey stuffing pro, the Thanksgiving feast has been on our mind and we have some things we need to share with you. Believe it or not, we’ve found they are appropriate for all skill levels. All you have to be able to do is not cook them.

Here are our 8 dishes that shouldn’t make it onto the Thanksgiving table:

  1. Raw turkey basted in syrup and siracha
  2. Fermented sweet potato casserole with toasted marshmallows
  3. Homemade stuffing with live frogs
  4. Roasted garlic mashed potatoes with eggshells
  5. Brown gravy with turkey drippings from last Thanksgiving
  6. Cranberry sauce with fish eyes
  7. Pumpkin pie topped with brussels sprouts
  8. Buttery green bean casserole with candied caterpillars

We could go on, but hopefully this well-rounded list of recommendations covers the bases. If someone else is cooking, we’d recommend sharing this with them. As for us, we’ll be passing out lots of copies around the office.
