Is Mobile Internet Usage Overtaking PC Based Internet Usage?

In recent studies comparing internet usage from mobile devices and PC-based computers, reports indicate that mobile web usage will surpass PC based internet usage by 2014. Although mobile web only accounted for 1.26% of overall web traffic at the end of 2009, it is estimated to surpass desktop internet usage by 2014.

Why such a change?

Mobile internet is becoming more accessible to people with PDAs, Smartphones, and 3G phones so mobile web is becoming more of a medium for accessing the internet than the common PC based internet browsing. With many more people browsing via mobile devices, on average it has added additional traffic of 13% for leading mobile websites in the US.
